can one of you lovlies answer this question, I am 58 and have no pension. I have no saving and no family member that has a spare room should i LOOSE my job within this year - where will I live when I can't afford to pay the rent either........... no jokes and no park benches just sensible asnswers

postage - I would think about getting onto the local authority housing list. As a single over 55, in time you are likely to be offered a social housing flat. This would be far more secure than private rented accomodation. When you retire or if you lose your job, you will be able to claim housing benefit (regardless where you live) and you will be pretty safe there along with others in a similar position. Our local authrity have a couple of nice complexes for over 55s only - worth a try.
postage you had a thread on here about paying a builder £10,000 and he ripped you off. You have some rather strange questions on here ... is this a wind up ?
Hammerman I know all about the Motability scheme, my point was that it is not the Local Council dishing out free cars as the previous poster claimed. You forego your benefit to lease a car.
didnt you know thats what OAP stands for. Old And Penniless. Thats where most of us are heading
Birmingham have over 50's schemes they also have benefits advisers I am sure your council will have something similar
