Canon i850 Printer

My Canon i850 printer has just stopped printing. It gave a message quoting "Service Error 5200". The trouble is I can't find the handbook that gives this. It appears to want to print, but the paper comes through clean, although the ink tanks are all full.

Has anyone got any suggestions? Is it worth trying to get it repaired. I've had it about 15 months, so it will be out of guarantee (of course)!

A "Service Error" normally indicates that a Canon Service Center will feature in your future.

It appears that the code 5200 refers to 'Head overheating error' meaning either the printhead or logic board needs replacing.

Canon advise that the printer be switched off for a few minutes and then powered up to see if the error clears.

Thanks for that, Kempie. I'll try downloading the handbooks from that site. I've already ordered a new printer on-line, but it would be nice to have this one going, too.
