Andy, for reasons I cannot now recall, had a name-problem and simply ended up by altering the original one slightly. I'm sure he'll be along soon to offer the full explanation.

As QM advises, I had a brief gap when the gremlins messed up my original account, so i re-joined with a slightly altered name.
I am the elder statesman of the site, and very proud of it indeed.
I joined actually before the site was on-line, signed up as a writer to contribute the weekly featurews that were part of the original AB before it became a stand-alone Q & A site.
I enjoyed paid employment as a Channel Producer - love that term - but when that ceased, I stayed on and have been here every day since, excepting hoilidays and illness.
Many many peole have come and gone, but QM and I carry on and one of us will switch the lights off when the last day comes - hopefully not for a very very long time.
