would you do all the cutting in first with a brush when painting walls then use the roller or would you cut in as and when required. Thanks in advance.

I do all the edges and cutting in parts with a brush first as sometimes it's difficult to get the roller right into to the edge, make a really neat job of it & ensure all the wall is covered adequately. Not sure what the professionals do but psychologically I find it better to get the fiddly bits done first so one can then concentrate on the big sweep.

I always cut in a large area and then use the paint pads. No splashing!
Cut in first, definately. You can then overlap with the roller to mininise brush-marks. Looks much better that way (and I've done some labouring with a decorator and that's the way they do it)
