Does anyone know what the scars on Seal's face are? Is it some kind of tribal thing?

it's just bad acne scarring

also the 'is it some kind of tribal thing?' could be seen as a bit racist...
Seal suffered with lupus, a physical disorder, which has left the recognizable facial scar.
Oh for god's sake mastadon - how can a perfectly valid question about Seal's scars be racist. The fact is that a lot of people of African origin have tribal scarring. Get real!

He is in fact half Brazilian. The link above tells you all about him.

I go with Shaney*. Seal was born in Nigeria, he suffered in his early twenties from a form of Lupus that left him with virulent scarring on his upper cheeks. Lupus is a chronic (long-lasting) autoimmune disease in which the immune system, for unknown reasons, becomes hyperactive and attacks normal tissue. This attack results in inflammation and brings about symptoms sometimes leaving permanent scarring.

Right back at yer mastadon!!

Thanks all. I was just curious, that's all. Mastadon, course it's not racist! Cheers, Cheesefreek. Glad to see that some ppl do live in the 'real world'
actually i have to admit the story I heard was that it was scarring caused by a tribal ritual of having bones or something threaded through the skin. No idea where I heard that though and it was a while ago.
