Many thanks to forgetfultel, geo0939, Heather33, biley, LindaBon and grannyg for all of the solutions to and comments on my ST GK No 680 queries, which are now buried somewhere 4 pages back.

The ST and DT have made quite a few changes to their website. A Sunday Quick crossword is no longer available. On some days the Sudoku is not printed. On the newly-designed Puzzle Archive page, none of the commands is active so I cannot access previous solutions, etc. The Sunday Elimination puzzle is no longer printed; has that been cancelled by the paper? I don't know whether or not the Sunday GK is still a competition; I seem to recollect various contributors to this website saying that it was not and that the solution was published in the same issue. In either case, I am not eligible to enter.

No doubt things will slowly sort themselves out, but it all appears to me, 10 000 miles away, to be a bit disorganised.

Thanks for your feedback mohill. Concerning the recent kerfuffle about the Telegraph; for the reasons you quote I have cancelled my online subscription after this period ends in January. Obviously, I was allowed to enter the crossword competitions, and won a couple of times. However the they don't seem to consider us (anoraks). I just wonder how many of us took any real action.
