It's not right, but if it's not means-tested, then unfortunately there's no reason why she shouldn't.
As box

Which is why these benefits need to be means tested
How on earth they actually need £500 extra a month on their winnings I'll never know
yes, and give it to someone who deserves the extra cash,
No, I wouldn't Sandy I am in receipt of benefits and I loathe the stigma that accompanies it. I have worked all my life until my health deteriorated five seven years ago leaving me at the mercy of the welfare system. I would welcome the opportunity to be solvent greatly ! Horses for courses eh ?
Not a chance! I'd be ringing DWP to say I didn't need it. As for what other people have said about the means testing, I do know that on several occasions whenever I have been filling out the forms I have been asked whether I have more than £6,000 in savings, which I assume would affect the claim. Never pursued it as I have zip savings.
As Anne says I'd still claim and give it to charity. Fat chance of winning the lottery though - think you've to buy a ticket first.
They will be paying more in tax on interest from the 10,000,000 than they get in benefits each week.
How are they unlike large corporations , who make millions ...sorry billions in profit , with the tax payer paying them benefits ?

ie TESCO - Employ 1,000's of people on just above minimum wage.
As a result a large proportion of there employees are helped via Tax credits and subsidised housing. This thus enables Tesco to get labour on the cheap and maximise profits.

So when I read this , I thought a typical Daily Mail story.
I understand them saying as others do, I've worked all my life and paid my taxes so I'm entitled but why are these people not happy with all this money that they need to take more.
Personally I think ALL benefits should be means tested.
