I have never understood why Mephisto being the far hardest of the two ST crosswords never seems to be mentioned in AB. So to start a new trend here are the two top clues for which I would very much appreciate answers
1a Red Cross in U-turn behind vessel (5) ????t and 5a Bishop and judge in that old pat (7, two words)???e???.
