I got run over by a lorry after being let out of school early due to the death of George VI! My Nan said it was all 'that woman's' (Mrs Simpson's) fault!!!

Would have been at home with my mum - 4 years old and no recollection of the day.

I had bunked off school to go to the roller skating rink at Forest Gate having sneeked out my skates the night before, half way there we got on a bus and the conductor said "dont you girls know the king has died and everywhere will be closed. No we didnt know otherwise we would have picked another day.
