Ann, if you phone Sky and ask them they will probably be fine with replacing the box for free. If they refuse you can always threaten to end your contract and switch to BT or Virgin, that usually makes them give in ;)

I will be very surprised if they will replace your Sky box free and how come your buttons have worn away, you don't have to use them that often?

We were ages without a Sky remote control - on our old one, the keys were sticking down and then several stopped working so OH who sat right next to the box on a shelf (the digibox was on the shelf not the husband LOL :)) used the little controls on the box itself, I did get a replacement remote off Ebay a while back. We've had the Sky Digibox (Grundig) when Sat dishes first came out, must be over 20 years ago!
