Ganglion aspirated

Hi people, today I have been for the above and billy O that hurts !!! As well as having the beastly thing aspirated, the doctor injected something in to prohibit it growing any more. In my state ,I for got to ask him what it was he had injected, and why the pain went up my arm. Any ideas ?

possibly a sclerosing agent alcohol of some kind maybe

More than likely a steroid injection, ouch - poor you flump, feel better soon.

It's normally a steroid injection though I don't know why the pain should increase up your arm.

Almost certainly a steroid.

He "nicked " a nerve giving you the pain in your arm.

I had mine treated in the States, sucking out with a large needle under a local what would have been a brilliant heavy grease. ]

It grew back - nothing that a volume akin the the "Family Bible" couldn't sort out. One heavy thwack and it has never come back.

As a youngster I had a ganglion on my left wrist, a great-uncle of mine, a sheepfarmer in Westmorland treated it for me by putting my wrist on the end of a chair arm with my fingers pointing to the floor and then belted the protruding lump with the spine of the large family Bible. It went away and never came back. I never told him when I got one on my right wrist tho'!

You guys are great, never fail to make me smile, nobody needs to apologise ,I asked a question and while I appreciate sqad and rowan both have medical experience , I like to hear from other folk too who may have been through similar things . Thank you all. x

My son had one aspirated last summer - it has come back!. But really enjoyed the "cheeky" answers.
