Cyprus Holiday for May 2012
27 Answers
My partner and myself are looking to holiday for 2 weeks in Cyprus in May this year, can anyone please recommend a nice resort and hotel please at a reasonable price.
We are hoping for a nice 4/5 star all inclusive.
I will be celebrating my 50th on this holiday and my partner is 60, we aren't looking to go clubbing but do want a place that's gots some life, that's not to far out in the distance, has good food friendly staff and has reasonable entertainment
Thanks x

That makes it easy to drive down the 40 minutes to Limassol, drive up 15 minutes to Larnaca or 40 minutes to the wondeful beaches like fig tree bay. Nicosia is also then within easy reach - about 50 minutes away. The Troodos mountains are about 1 hour away and Pahos about 1hr 30 mins. The other advantage of staying in that kind of area is that you are then around Cypriots and they are so friendly. The issue we had with Pathos (which we did enjoy for a couple of years) is that it felt rather English - obviouly excellent if that is what you are looking for. However, it sounds like you are looking for a hotel with entertainment and for that you might need to be nearer to the Larnaca or Protaras areas.
I have been to the Elysium in Paphos twice and it is the best hotel I have ever stayed at in my life. It is in the Tomb of the Kings area, which isn't as aesthetically pleasing as the harbour area, but the Elysium itself has extensive grounds so you don't ever need to leave! http://www.elysium-hotel.com/
