Bend any arm at elbow, palm up. Flex hand downwards.
Press the fleshy pad of your hand near to the wrist, opposite the thumb.
Do you get a hard lump appear on your wrist (palm side) that doesn't disappear until you press it and feel a crunch?

They can put their hand flat on a hard surface and bend their thumb back behind 90 degrees. Very good if they want to do gymnastics, very bad if they don't want to fall over all of the time.
