A friend of mine has just bought one of these to record tv programmes on. The problem is that when she is recording something she can't change the channel or switch it off. The only way around it that I can see is to switch the source from the HDMI back to the TV howerver this doesn't seem very practical. I've had a look at the manual whch is no use what so ever. Before I suggest she takes it back or asks someone in PC world (something I wouldn't put anyone through) Is there anyone else that has one and is there an easier way around it?
Not got one but just had a quick google and it seems that it only has one tuner. Old video recorders only recorded one channel, and they too would not change channel whilst recording.
The question is why, if you are recording something anyway, would you want to change the channel on the recorder.
What you describe she has to do seems quite normal to me, switching back to the tv source.
Thanks Postdog, I did suspect that might be the case, it only seemed strange to as both BT vision and sky boxes let you record and swap and change channels within the hdmi/scart source. Thanks again for looking though :-)
I have a DVD recorder, and while it records on one channel you can't switch to another, but if you use your TV remote (not the DVD recorder's remote) and switch channels directly on the TV, you can watch another channel while the DVD still happily records the first channel.
