Tabs at bottom of page

I'm a bit OCD when it comes to the position I have all my windows open on my laptop. It has to be Outlook, then firefox, then my accounting package.

Sometimes one of the programmes has a little hiccup, closes itself for a minute then re-opens but the tab at the bottom moves to the end - so everything is out of order.

Is there anyway I can move the tabs at the bottom without having to close everything and re-open back in the position I like them in?

I'm running Vista (nothing I can do about that) on a Dell.
