European Drama Series - as good as anything in the uk produce?
5 Answers
Thanks to BBC4 and to the lesser extent Sky it seems the Europeans are taking over from the Americans in producing some very high quality drama series despite being in their native language (subtitled). Notable examples include: The Killing and Borgen from Denmark, Willander from Sweden, and my favorite being shown on Sky Arts - Romanzo Criminale le Serie from Italy. Of CoOf Course BBC and ITV still produce good drama but a few years ago we would not even have considered watching this on TVrse BBC and ITV still produce good drama but a few years ago we would not even have considered watching this on TV. I have seen all the above including Spiral a French production. Tired of all the American crap...we are supposed to be 'In Europe' so why not purchase the films, we take note of everything else they tell us...straight cucumbers..certain sized tomatoes!!! lol
