female cat spayed today.. acting weird..
4 Answers
Hi and thanks in advance. My (3rd) wee female cat was spayed today (also had a tooth out and a hernia operated on). I know that's quite an arduous day for a kitty! However, she is currently hiding behind the sofa and flinches a bit of we go near her... Could it be that the pain killers are just wearing off a bit and she feels sorry for herself? Or should I be worried that something isn't right..? I have had two other females spayed, but it was a while back and I can't really remember what their behaviour was like. The two toms were fine, but it's not such a big op. Thanks - I'm worried about my wee fur child!

We've two cats and they are always wary for a day when they come back from the vets. And if it was today, then she's to couple that with the drowsiness. Give her peace and she'll be fine. However if you're really concerned then contact your vet and ask them. All are different. But the wee beastie's been through a hell of a lot. Leave her be :-)
Thanks very much. I know you're right, and it helps so much to hear it from a fellow cat lover. She's a special wee girl, and normally quite the naughtiest cat on the block, so it's odd to see her so quiet. She's come out from behind the sofa, and is now under my chair. I'm sure she'll be just fine tomorrow. Thanks!
