As someone else said, Valentines Day used to be for people to send anonymous cards and messages to someone they secretly liked. The fun was in trying to guess who the messages were from.

I agree with naomi - they were always anonymous when I was a kitten. You had to guess - or at least speculate!

Yes Evian, all gifts gratefully received but when I've been single on Valentine's day (as I am now) it's never bothered me at all...not all couples are loved up and having a romantic day.

One of my dear friends lost her husband 5 years ago. Every year I send her an anonymous Valentine's card and she doesn't have a scooby. Loves it though.
