No wonder insurance is rising

I swear I saw that little dog on the National Accident Helpline wagging its supposedly injured tail whilst still bandaged. In fact he probably faked the whole thing just to get compo and enrich the lawyers

A car hit the back of our car some years ago and our dog was injured.
We were able to claim the vet fees on our pets insurance but we had to pay an £50 excess.
We also had to pay a £100 excess for the car.
As it happened the pet insurance was with the same company as the car insurance.
The car insurance legal section took this claim on and claimed our excess for our dog and the car.
I was most surprised when the car excess was paid by the third party insurance company within about 2 months but they did not think they were liable for the dog's vet bills or excess.
The third party insurance company did not think it was worth spending £800 on a 9 year old dog.
Thankfully the dog recovered over about 3 months and lived for another 6 years and of less importance we recovered our £50 after about 8 months.

Boxley - that is life! 'Things' have become more valuable than living creatures - human and non-human. But things can be replaced with money - living beings can't.
Dicky - I don't watch TV but will look out for this little guy. Insurance companies try to find any reason to not pay out. Luckily my little tom cat, Frankie, is covered for his asthma - which will save me thousands over the course of his life (unless he winds me up even more and then in the wheelie bin he will go).
