Blimey, I was in Primark (we have a lovely huge new one at Lakeside, its fantastic) yesterday and ended up in the changing rooms on 4 separate occasions as the sizing between garments is unbelievably different. Imagine ordering on line, it would be a nightmare, what size would you order, then it would probably have to be returned
With the amount of hassle and protection of customers rights, I am amazed that any company offers online sales.
Under distance selling regulations, you can return the goods up to 14 days after purchase - and you only have to keep "reasonable care" of the goods. So you can actually wear something and return it later. Plus, as mentioned above you have the hassle of delivery, potential fraud regarding deliveries, all money would be debit/credit cards which incur charges, a fairly sophisticated software system would need to be installed as well as a new picking area - all of which costs money.
Would be fairly doubtful whether there would be a sufficient increase in their business.
