For the second day running, I think?

Is it any of his business? Should he be allowed a voice?

Not all people from Hawaii seem happy with US rule DTcrosswordfan!

thank you, living in the States but having never gone there, I was unaware of an Independence movement....the only thing of note being that Cook christened the Islands when he said "Hi Where are we?" and that was bastardised.....
How far back shall we go to sort out where belongs to who?

Shall I dig my chariot and toga out for my next trip to Dudley market?

Veni Vidi Vici and a lb of bananas please
Question Author
lol DTcrosswordfan.... hawaii comes from the Polynesian owhykhii! meaning "place of the gods". Cook called the islands the "Sandwich Islands".
It's just dawned on me...

Sean Penn must have very long legs to "wade in" on the falklands from Argentina! :-P
I was just being droll......
Question Author
Keep what we have mightyWBA, is my advice, and hope Sean Penn doesn't come and challenge us! He's not JUST an actor you know...he has opinions and everything.
Question Author
I know DTcrosswordfan............I was just being pedantic!
The Falklands are British, the folks there are British and want to be British.

Just because some C list American movie "star" thinks we should leave doesn't amount to much...
The Penn might well be mightier than the sword but we have Nuclear subs..

Take a hike buddy
Look Penn has the right to comment, he is also to the left of the Democrats and has spoken out about "occupation" for want of a better word for some time and other places.

I also suspect that this was well engineered by the left-leaning Uruquayans as well as the likes of Chavez.

Penn's left wing leanings are not appreciated by all in the States, even those in his profession. He has been vociferous in supporting that dangerous w*nker Hugo Chavez and that certainly is not appreciated by most Americans.

His support for Chavez even elicited a choice expression from his former co-star, Maria Conchita-Alonso in a row in the LA luggage area: 'And you are a communist a**hole! Is it great to live the way you do as a communist."
Question Author
I think I like Maria Conchita! She called him on it! Hollywood Communist! :-))
Imagine if McCarthy had been around (not that I am condoning that) but dearie old Seanie baby would be staring out of a little cell with an iron door and barred windows.
There is already a good thread on this subject put up yesterday in News if anyone's interested.
Question Author

Question Author

"Sean Penn wades in on the Falklands."

Updated version of 'The Bay of Pigs' perhaps?
sorry to hear Penn's now been demoted to a C-lister; he has a Best Actor Oscar. What do you have to do to get into the A list these days?
