holiday suggestions

next december 7th is my 60th birthday ..I'm taking the wife away for a couple of weeks on holiday.. she want to go somewhere nice and hot, somewhere, preferably a nice hotel with good food nice surroundings etc . for 2 weeks of just relaxing in hot sunshine.. any suggestions?

I can't see how the Vendee qualifies as hot in December!

For 'hot' you'll need to go well south. Even the Canaries (off the North African coast) will only be 'warm', with the possibility of high winds.

The Canary Islands - some lovely resort hotels on the different islands. Windy, but warm.

I'm Taking her but she's paying for it.. We've been looking at barbados and playa del carmen in mexico but cant really make up my mind on iether of these.. i dont think the canaries will be hot enough for mrs S .. we both love the USA but i dont think theres anywhere really hot enough in december is there. might end up going to italy and tell her to buy herself a sunlamp with the money she saves..

Between Mexico and Barbados it`s Barbados every time (IMO). I love it there. Great people, lovely turquoise seas and great food. Hot too.
