Is there anything you were told as a youngster and you still remember
and practise...

I was told never to take the lid off a kettle to fill it cos thats where ghost live and you will let them out.

To this day I always fill a kettle from the tap down the spout.

B00, you beat me to it. :o)
When I was very small I was told that if I held a guinea pig up by its tail, its eyes would fall out. It never occurred to me that guinea pigs don't have tails.
After sunny-dave's FoodOnMyDogsHead link I'm only here because I was curious about goats in kettles....

I must get new specs.
hehe Naomi, as soon as I saw the title I remembered the other post!
In town there are a couple of huge manhole covers. My dad always used to tell me there were gorillas under them and i shouldnt make a noise on them in case i wake them up. I still walk round them now.
Me too. :o)
My last was to B00. I'm not scared of gorillas. :o)

Betcha would be if you saw one in your local high street Naomi! ;-)

Sorry, chichi, didn't mean to ignore you. I just got carried away with the horrible thought of a gorilla that looks like a spider.... I don't like spiders....

I have no idea where these tales come from ... people who like scaring children I guess. :o/
