Does anyone else feel annoyed that a gas supplier can use the appellation 'British' when it is not?

I think it is actually.

The only British owned supplier in the UK.
Yep, owned by centrica.

Very easily googled.
Had 2 large portions of Vegetable curry yesterday
There is definately some 'British Gas' being produced here !
Should I plumb my self into the mains ?
do you have a reverse meter there, eddie? What is more valuable is to add the stench ingredient as Natural Gas doesn't actually smell.....
In theses days of global companies, it would be hard to find a more 'British' company than Centrica!

If you were moaning about the former British Airports Authority (now BAA plc) being Spanish owned, or the many other non-British 'British' companies, your post would make more sense.

Chris, this is the same poster who actually asked ' why can't I sign in'. Ah well, takes all sorts I suppose.
I'm not sure why she's so upset to be honest, she's already posted about this once and been told they're about as UK as anything is these days but apparently she's still not happy.

I was obviously misinformed by a cold caller trying to get me to change supplier, denigrating other suppliers. I did not change.
