How can I stop the hundreds of phone calls I receive every week from banks I don't belong too, and payment protection insurance which I've never had!! I'm so fed up of coming home from work and sifting through these numbers to see if anyone I actually know has called. I've just had a week off work ill and I am amazed by how many junk calls I receive in the day. I am already supposedly removed from the phone book, is there something else I can do (apart from setting fire to my phone!!)?

all useful stuff about stopping these calls
For about £6 per month you can get the "Choose to Refuse" service, whereby you replace the receiver after the unwanted call, pick it back up and dial a 5-digit code and that automatically barrs the last caller. You can manager the list too, so you can unbarr somebody if it so desire.
The facility of using a code number after receiving an unwanted call to bar it from being able to phone you again is free of charge from TalkTalk.
