One printer and two Pc's
Hello At the moment i am using one printer for two pc's and i simply connect each pc to the printer when i need to print from it. Sorry for simpleton speak but i loaded the printer software to each Pc.and the cable from the printer is USB (this is the one I change over to print). If i fit a USB from PC2 to a USB socket on PC1 and the cable from the printer to another USB socket on PC1
should this do the trick for me to print off each PC.

Then you'll blow your motherboard up!!
Assuming both computers are connected to the internet through the same router then they are already networked and all you have to do is share the printer on one computer and it will be possible for the other computer to print to it (assuming the computer with the printer is switched on)
As you've omitted to mention any details about what versions of windows the computers are running it not possible to give more precise details.
Then you'll blow your motherboard up!!

Assuming that both PCs are connected to a router (which is a fair bet), you can simply connect the printer to one of them and share it over the network.
You haven't given much detail about your system, but for XP:
At each computer, right-click My Computer and choose properties
Go to the Computer Name tab and check that they are both members of the same workgroup. If not, click the Change button on one of them, and change its workgroup to match that of the other (You may need to restart afterwards)
At the computer to which the printer is connected: Right-click the printer and choose sharing. Select "Share this printer" and give it a name.
At the other computer open "My Network Places"
Double -click Entire network
Double-click Microsoft Windows Network
Double-click the name that you gave your workgroup
Double-click the name of the computer to which the printer is connected
Right-click the shared printer and choose connect
Set it to be the default printer for this machine.
The above may seem a bit longt-winded, but you only have to do it once.

If you have a BT hub there is an even better way to to it, BT hubs are unusual in as much as you can connect printers to them and share them between computers.... this gives the benefit you can print from either computer without having to have both computers on...
