I had a heated argument with a work colleague
7 Answers
I wasn't working at the time, had called into the office when the argument happened. The work colleague had said negative things about my daughter and I confronted her about this. We exchanged heated words and then I left. Can my employers take any action against me for this? There wasn't any customers around to hear the argument.

My daughter had applied for a job within the same firm and this person had said negative things about her hence she didn't get the job. I felt the negative things this person had said had influenced the recruiter not to give her the job! The heated conversation was because I confronted her about what she had said.
i suppose it depends on what she said... if she just didnt feel your daughter was right for the job for whatever negative reasons, then i assume its her job to make those observations, and it would seem your nose was just out of joint because its your daughter and you didnt get your own way - but if shed been slagging her off, making nasty jokes, unfounded accusations etc then id say she was at fault and you perhaps your actions were more understandable
i assume head office will take this into acccount
