if they both thought this could happen, and no one is saying it will, did they not weigh up the options beforehand and see that maybe it wasn't a good idea to adopt.

But we talked about that before we had him."....."We've taken advice from counsellors. We've put a whole scrapbook together about his creation, the people who were involved in the process and how the intent was about love."
They put more effort into having a baby than most people do, he's a very loved little baby. Children are stigmatised for many things and having a gay, multi-millionaire father or even two fathers isn't the worst.

Good for them for considering any problems that may arise. They sound like responsible and loving parents who want to do their best for their son. It’s hardly uncommon now for same sex partners to have children so I really don’t think there will be any stigma attached to the boy. If Elton wants to be there for his son, he has enough money to give up his career to be there.
Evian i am on the fence on this one, i like to think as long as the child has two loving parents then that is all there is, however that is not to say that the child growing up may wonder why they have two dads, or two mums, or even who their biological father is if conceived by sperm donation.
Add into being a child of a warring mother and father, who split when i was young know full well having a mum and dad isn't necessarily the best course either.

I'm glad I was brought up in a normal one man, one woman, family. Whatever other advantages may be under consideration I believe it is selfish to deliberately create a child that has no chance of that multi gender parent family. It is one thing to cope with a non-ideal situation when plans fall through; it is quite another to put your own desire above the requirements of someone who can not speak for themselves.
However in this case presumably it was obvious to them both that there could be social problems, so they must have considered all this beforehand and dismissed it, and consequently it is not news.

I think its a good thing. The world is moving on and we need to move with it.
From what they say in the article they have clearly made a lot of effort to ensure he knows where he has come from and how his life started, presumably including who gave birth to him.
But this child is probably a slight exception as the circles he and his parents mix in are likely far different from the ones you and i do. If anything i would think he is more likely to be stigmatised (not sure if thats the best word really) because his dad is one of the most famous men in the world, not because he has two of them.

children wonder about lots of things, there are much worse things they could have to wonder about than this.
and lots of kids are brought up by single people, fathers and mothers, god parents, aunts, uncles, grandparents etc etc...
hopefully by the time they are old enough to realise the world will have changed enough for this sort of think to be seen as normal, acceptable and not a problem
