Signed up to Netflix which is ok good on iPad iPhone laptop ect but I don't have a smart tv or game console can anyone tell me what cable I need to connect my laptop to flat screen tv so I can watch films there???? VGA cable seems to be no sound so is it VGA hdmi VGA scart???
Or am completely on the wrong track???

If your laptop and TV are fairly new (and both have HDMI) then that is the best solution.

But a lot depends on what connections your laptop has and what connections your TV has.

VGA will not do sound only picture.

My laptop is a compaq precarious and it has an Ethernet port and what looks like a VGA port and I thought it was four USB ports but it is three with one hdmi so I connected to my tv with that but I can't get sound on tv (comes from laptop) any ideas????
