Eggheads question on Oxford John Steak

The question to Pat yesterday was what type of animal was used for an Oxford John Steak. Pat or the other Eggheads had never heard of it. The name is only used in the Oxford area I think as it was sold by a local butcher to the university. An impossible to answer question unless you live in Oxon I would think. Anybody ever heard of it. It certainly is not in any Butchery manuals.

I've not heard of it either but there are uite a few recipes on the internet. Seems to be lamb steaks.
