I suppose we'd all be after one if we had pots of money, but is it really worth going to all that expense? (I've been watching "Escape to the Country" on the BEEB")

The last property I fancied was 2.1M and it wasn't ott......just had lovely proportions and gorgeous gardens.
A headache to Will off as tax man wants 40% for IHT. Capitalism....pfffft
Im always amazed at the amount of couples who need properties so big with a few acres of land on the side just to live in, just couples with no kids.
Trying to sell mine for £750,000. The landlord is furious!
It's the couples with no kids that are more likely to be able to afford them cazzz. I'd go for that too if I could, but I failed in life as I'm never likely to be able to afford it.

I would like the acres but not a large house. Living in a middle of nowhere appeals.

Me too Lottie, shed for me but acres for the dogs! I love these programmes, especially the escape to the sun ones, but wish just occasionally they would do a 'budget' edition for those of us with not much money.
