I have a jpeg image which I want to divide and quarter into 4 seperate jpegs of the same size. Is there a way to do this so that it is exact? I can do it in Edit and by cropping the image each time in four diferent ways but then it is all down to trying to do it by eye.

Divide in half first. Then divide each one in half again.
are you working in Photoshop? If so you should be able to call up a ruler and a grid overlay, which might help

I think I may have got something sorted by opening the jpeg with Microsoft Picture Manager and then cropping it and using the crop handles and using the pixels numbers at the side. I worked out that verically it was 741 pixels and horizontally was 509 pixels. So by hhalving them I was able to do the four quartes individually. That said, I'll have to see if it has worked to plan.
If you're still having trouble, download the free Irfanview plus plugins. It has to be the best free image editor... and so simple even I can use it.
The prog has a facility to set the crop size by pixels so you can crop a quarter exactly.
Yes, Irfanview is great and easy to use for mugs like me. I found quite a god other free editor just now; it's PHOTOPAD IMAGE EDITOR. Good luck,

Thanks for that. It worked okay the way I mentioned above, not perfect but okay.
