Knives

I have a set of newish knives and I don't know what jobs I am supposed to use each one for - there is a bread knife and a carving knife plus three other ones (normal looking - like smaller visions of the carving knife). Any ideas or doesn't it matter as long as I don't chop a finger off? Thanks.

I would find the one you are most comfortable with and use that most of the time.

We've got a block full of different shaped and sized ones. I just grab whichever seems right for the job in hand. The food always seems to turn out ok, so I wouldn't worry about it too much.
