Things I have never eaten.
58 Answers
A recent thread on here about KFC prompted me to think about things I have never eaten - easy enough for me because I have a seriously limited palate - the of a five-year-old is about right for me!
Here is my list - add your own, or comment as you see fit -
1. KFC
2. Pot Noodle
3. Veal
4. Venison
5. Rabit
6. Oysters
7. Offal ( any kind)
8. Yoghurt
9. Sushi
10. Muesli

6. Oysters-only the tinned smoked ones-raw shellfish/molluscs don't appeal ( i HAVE had raw clams)
7. Offal ( any kind) ...erm-does liver count as offal?...if not,then no
8. Yoghurt -yes-like it so much I've started making my own Greek style
9. Sushi -adore it
10. Muesli-yes,but wouldn't miss it if it was abolished
I've never had tripe,eel,haggis-want to try that....'unusual 'meats-such as what red has mentioned-I'd try them also-but not the eyes!.....don't care much for calamari or squid-too easy to get them wrong and rubbery.
I agree about pork belly(there's some in the slow cooker now)-it's meat perfection ;-))

Odd that you should think five-year olds have a limited diet. When my sons were five years old they had a hugely varied diet. I made sure they never felt limited to any narrow ranges of food. I saw that no dish was ever repeated within a fortnight, and usually, if I could, no dish ever appeared twice in three weeks. I was determined that my sons would never have silly food fads. I regularly announced to them in gleeful tones " we're having something tonight which you've never had before !" and they thoroughly enjoyed telling their friends about things like jambalaya and hot-fruit-salad, real home-made baked beans, striped bread and plantains. And guess what ? They had no food fads then, and now they are grown up they are just as adventurous. Like me, they have the motto - you should give everything a try , except incest and folk-dancing.
atlanta - when I refer to my palate being that of a five-year-old, i mean I love things like fish fingers, bacon and tomato, soups, chips, burgers, the things you would find on children's menus in restaurants. I appreciate that many children - including mine - have been exposed to far greater varietes of food, but I have no interest in food at all, and would happily take a pill instead of eating.
And before everyone posts about not knowing what I'm missing - please don't waste your time, I have heard it all before.
