How many times a year do you use Manchester airport?

I would not have a problem paying £1 to use a trolley.
Is it an actual charge or is it like supermarket trollies where you get the quid back when you are done.

Luton airport charges people to drive through the drop off point.
Yeah....£1.
Same at Edinburgh, £1 to pick up or drop off and it makes your eyes water after 15 minutes.

They say that it's due to the replacement of trollys.
no refund, but it looks a sensible thing - we never use a trolley, we have wheely suitcases. http://www.manchester....nsf/Content/trolleys
Well if people bothered to put them back they wouldn't have to charge.

In Luton, if you stay in the drop off for more then 10 minutes the charge goes up to £80.
Pay £1 or carry your own bags.......I know which I'd rather do.
The only time I can see this being a problems is for inbound passengers who will be very likely to not have a £1 coin on them.

Other than that, I can't see a problem with paying £1 to use their facilities if you wan them.
It's either £1 or a 2 euro coin, chuck.
According to the link it's because they are replacing the trolleys, not putting them back isn't mentioned. As the trolleys are about 16 years old and made to last 25 years seems more cosmetic then anything.
I have a special disc, from Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, which is on a keyring. It works instead of a £1 coin in trolleys.Saves having to find the coin. Not likely to forget to reclaim it. It's got my cars keys on it!
