Yes! Where I come from there is no difference, and I have never heard anyone make the distinction before (not in a lifetime of teaching even). Are you sure you're not imagining it simply because you know the "t" is there in the one? I'm not trying to be funny, or cheeky! Can't be settled with dictionary, either, as the pronunciation of plurals is not specifically given! I stand to be corrected, though. It reminds me (although it's different, of course)how I was told at school that "calm" and "harm" do not rhyme, although they certainly did amongst the "educated"(!!!) people of Sussex.And sorry btw I've only just got round to seing your response!
