Quiz Show answers-double standards

Is it fair that some quizmasters want both names of a person then another time they do not. For example on saturday's Pointless Celebrities AA asked about USA Presidents wives Joe answered Nixon and AA said I want his first name so he lost. On Mondays edition AA accepted the answer Dot for an Eastenders question. Surely a christian name is not a satisfactory answer
