Goodfellas. I remember first watching it when it came out on DVD and just being amazed at how Scorsese created something so painfully cool. Absolutely everything about it is fabulous - the cast, the script, the camera work, the locations. It's such a pity Robert De Niro will never act like that again.

It was only after watching it and reading about Scorsese and his obsession with perfection, how inspirational he is in the sense that he does what he wants and cares not for anyone who gets in his way. How the film lost out to Dances With Wolves in the 1990 Oscars is just beyond belief.
