So far I've tried soaking it in vinegar and putting it through a 6o degree wash and scrubbing it. This hasn't worked, so can anyone suggest a better method of getting the mould off (I'm assuming it's mould - black spotty patches that seem to have ingrained into the curtain fabric)? Thank you.

Why bother? Asda have a sale on at the minute with shower curtains reduced down to 99p.....is it really worth the effort?...if it is then try bicarbonate of soda.
I've had mould and mildew on the grouting in between my bathroom tiles and I've used Dettox (?Dettol) Mould and Mildew remover, with good results. Perhaps that would work on your shower curtain too?
Give it a good scrub with vinegar and water solution... or pop to ASDA...
