Have Amstrad kit and some channels (BBC, all Channel 4 and ITV channels mostly) freeze (picture pixilates and freezes totally) and drosp the signal (No satellite signal being received message) for a second or two. It seems that this affects the channel also available via Freeview - they view fine when watched via the TV rather than the Sky box. All Sky channels are fine, no problem whasoever. Rebooted system frequently including disconnecting everything, this does not clear the problem. Anyone experienced this and have any ideas before I make the dreaded phone call to Sky technical services.

Check the signal strength. Sounds like maybe 1 input is dodgy.
Have you checked the cables in the back of the box?

Service>system set-up>signal strength.

Good luck with the hour long phone call !

Thanks Mattk, done that. Just had an on-line chat with one of Sky's support team who advised to to phone their Sales team to talk about a better deal. They just don't get it!!!!
Must admit that when we have sky problems I email them or chat online, seems to bring a better response and without paying for the phone call.

had an on-line chat with Sky.....they suggested I call their Sales Team to see if they could offer me a better deal. The conversation wnet as follows:

SHAIK: Can I book a service engineer for you?
You: no, not paying for an engineer, I have had so many problems with this box since it's installation. Thinking of cancelling Sky altogether
SHAIK: Paul, have you tried LNB reset?
You: yes
SHAIK: Still you have the same issue right?
You: well yes of course
SHAIK: May I know If you have communal dish or individual dish
You: individual
SHAIK: Alright
SHAIK: Please have a word with the relevant team so that they can help you with the better deal if they can.
SHAIK: I can help you with the direct number of the relevant team...
SHAIK: As they will be best to help you in this regards...
You: yes please, as long as I'm not waiting for 5 mintes or more!!
SHAIK: Sales - 08442 411025
SHAIK: Is there anything else I can help you with today?
You: Why will I want to talk to the Sales team?
SHAIK: They might give a best deal
