Dark Roots

Am I being old-fashioned/catty,but why do females go blonde then leave the roots dark? Thinking of in particular Holly Willoughby and the character "Debbie" in Emmerdale(who was lovely as a brunette).Had Fiona Philips lost her comb on This morning programme? Looked awful!
Thinking about it probably the fashion.xxx

I have often wondered the same thing, kind of tacky in my opinion .

I think it was Clive James who said years ago he couldn't understand why 'natural' blonds would go to the expense of getting their roots dyed.

Allegedly Madonna has her roots dyed dark brown to prove she's not going grey!
