Do you remember little sayings in your family, some of which may have been passed down from Grandparents. Some could be regional depending where you live.
I remember:
Its black over Bill's mothers (the sky is dark, rain expected)
Bread and pullet (pull it) - (in request to "whats for tea Mum?)
Charlie's dead (your underskirt is showing) or "Its snowing down South"
Put the wood in the hole (close the door) or "Were you born in a barn?"
I've got a bone in me leg (I'm feeling lazy)
There and back to see how far it is (in response to asking how far is it Dad)
Looks like a bombs 'it it (your bedroom is very untidy, my girl!)
I have eyes in the back of my head (I'm watching you and don't miss a thing!)

How many more can you think of?

When my new boyfriend arrived on a motorbike - 'looks like a monkey on a mangle'

When I was little and i had no clothes on (e.g. after a bath), my mum used to say i was 'like venus on a rock bun'.

'you'd be no good as a window' (usually standing in front of the telly)

as someone previously mentioned, i remember 'up the dancers' for up the stairs

If i asked where someone had gone, mum would say "she's ran away with a black man" ...i always thought it sounded very exotic!
Red shoes and no knickers (my gran's favourite)
Kippers and curtains. All show, no substance.
Another of my gran's, still in use. All mouth, no trousers.
Up the wooden hill for me.
Call me early, Mother dear, for I'm to be Queen of the May!
If somone was agitated, Mum would say they were "like a hen on a het girdle"
My grandmother's favourites when talking about a woman putting on airs:-
Mutton dressed as lamb
All fur coat and no knickers
To toddlers talking nonsense "Yes, we had one and it's leg fell off"
What's for tea? "Three jumps at the pantry door and a bite off the shelf"
To a child crying "You can stop that or I'll give you summat to cry about (meaning a smack).
When Confused "Right hand doesn't know what the left hand's doing."
"Well I'll go to the foot of our stairs" Always wondered why my Dad said that.
