Yes I have had some on my face, had them checked and they are harmless. My friend has them all over her hands.
Not really, maybe as you get really older
yes -but if they become lighter or darker - or become raised then see a doctor
Yes they do, bellazella - flat ones level with the skin.
Looking at my hands, one perhaps
Fruitsalad's asking what they look like, not if we have any....
Sorry read it wrong
Yes.
Mine do. I once read that castor oil would fade them. I only tried it once. It`s hard to function with hands covered in castor oil.

I've always had a few freckles scattered over my nose but recently there is one on the left side of my nose that is bigger than the rest and I did wonder if it was an age spot although it does tend to itch sometimes
Bio Oil is supposed to help - I haven't noticed a difference, but it does keep your skin nice and soft!
If it itches - I'd certainly ask the doc to take a look
Yes fruity, they look like freckles. They are common on the backs of hands and develop with age. Used to be called "liver spots" (dunno know why) but now just harmless "age-spots". But if any brown spots appear on face, particularly on bridge of nose, where basal cell cancers are commonest, or anywhere they itch, mojay is right - see doc. Do not be afraid of term basal cell cancer, not at all dangerous unless ignored for too long. After removal by nitrogen freezing or surgery under local anaesthetic all is OK.

Thank you I have a appointment booked with doc next week for a different matter and will mention it to her although last time I mentioned more than one ailment I got told off by the doctor thought it would be better to get everything out in one visit rather than make 2 or 3 different appointments
This thread has developed into a "is it skin cancer?" thread and the answer to that is it almost certainly has nothing to do with skin cancer (the new one on your nose)

Non melanotic skin cancers do not look anything like "freckles" and malignant melanomas have quite distinctive characteristics which I will not mention as mojay and solvitquick have indicated and differ from freckles.

"Liver spots" or spider naevi are so called because they are seen quite commonly in alcoholic liver disease.

Don't worry, your nose lesion is almost certainly nothing to do with skin cancer, but I agree with all the posters who have advised you to "show it to your Dr."
