When your time comes to draw your last breath, would you like it to be suddenly
(as in a heart attack) or would you like to have a few weeks to maybe put your affairs in order and to reflect on your life?
A bit of a morbid Q I know but I was talking about it earlier with a few friends and it got me thinking. Personally, I would like a bit of time to reflect.

Thanks for answers guys. Very interesting.
I would always have said quick and painless - but you've made me think now. I'd like to be able to say my goodbyes (and clear out my 'naughty drawer') :)

karenmac, lol. Mrs nailit has a "naughty" draw as well, something else that weve discussed should I go first. Wouldnt want our kids clearing out the bedroom thats for certain.
Exactly nailit - and given that mr mac is 15 years older than me, chances are....
Nice and slow....about 30 years should do it.
Trouble is 'slow' usually means suffering - who has ever been told they are going to die shortly but they won't notice anything different? Definitely sudden for me, preferably hit from above by a ten ton concrete block that I don't see coming.
One of my mother's favourite sayings was 'you know not the day nor the hour....'. She kept a portable Last Rites kit (RC version) to hand at all times and first told me she was dying when I was eight. She was right, as she died 35 years later.
Probably as a result, I concentrate absolutely on being the best version of me in the present. That includes keeping my paperwork and secrets tangle-free. I will die - it's a certainty. But I'll put my energy into life while it's available and let the ending of it come and find me.
Ayup, who's that boney bloke with a scythe at the door.....
I have to say that death itself does not worry me, but the way I go certainly does! I've always had a feeling it won't be nice for me but I don't know why I feel this way, maybe just a feeling (hope I'm wrong!)
Shame we dont get the same kindness that we show our dogs at the end lanky.
When I was on HGVs I just hoped when my time came I was not behind the wheel, that could have ended killing a lot of people.
