When I as a kid (30 years ago) my mum used to tell me a poem called Mr Moon. She got it out of a childrens book (like a comic annual) that she had when she was little. We dont know what the book was called or the author of the poem. The first verse goes
Mr Moon above the trees Are you really made of cheese If you are I'd like a slice Yellow cheese tastes rather nice But what would fill that empty space When I'd eaten half your face?
There are a couple more verses which me and mum can remember between us but we would love to know more about it.
Can remember the last verse but the 2nd escapes me!
Mr Moon, when e'er I creep
Up the steps, before I sleep,
Sometimes someone comes a-knocking
And I hear the Goblins talking.
By my window will you stay
And make the goblins go away?
Only just found your response. Do you know anything about the poem -who wrote it or anything? My young boys love it and I'd love to get them a proper version of it
