Locked card at till
10 Answers
I was trying to tell my daughter about an article that I read on here now I can't find it to show her. It was if your card gets locked at the checkout you can go to the cashpoint put your pin in then at bottom left it is supposed to say card maintenance .If you click on that it comes up with the option to unlock. Not been to a cash point to check this .Any comments on this as I am sure she is thinking I have got it wrong. I should have copied it off at the time. Thanks for any comment on this.

Sibton - "No Chuck, my bank told me I could take it to any Bank AT and quoted some of them as examples"
Yes, they told you YOU could take THEIR card to any bank and do so. Chuck meant that other card issuing banks may not allow it (they may all do, I don't know). The functions available to you at the ATM depend on your card and your bank, not the machine itself. It may be that Nationwide cards can be unlocked that way but HBOS ones cannot, etc.

It was an illustrative example. I have no idea which bank or building society (it doesn't matter which it is, they are all on LINK anyway) any of you are talking about. The point is just because YOUR bank says you can do it from ANY bank's machine doesn't mean that other banks let their customers do it from any machine at all.
