I somehow doubt that is true!
I agree that sounds rather high. What do they class as sexual assault?
I agree daffy, I wonder how they compile these figures.

Lol. Thats what I wondered rocky.
if you include even minor assaults like groping and what happens when you are too drunk to give too much in the way of consent it may well be pretty close to that figure
In some places, like Johannesburg, that figure is 1 in 5 girls are raped before they get to junior high school. I know this from people I know who moved their daughters from there to here ( Canada ) for this very reason.
I'm afraid the words 'mumsnet' and 'paranoid' and 'harpies' tend to occur quite near each other in my mind - somehow the process of having had a baby has removed their ability to think rationally, miraculously given them superiority over all 'non mums' and detached them from the real world where (surprisingly) not *all* men are bastards ...

... none of which is in any way an apologia for harassment of anyone, at any level, by anyone, ever ...
To Sunny Dave. I agree with you 100% Mumsnet is a forum for superior middle class 'ladies who lunch' and try to tell the rest of us where we are going wrong with our lives/parenting skills etc. The article in Times2 today about male rapes made far more harrowing reading but of course to Mumsnet those victims don't count because they are men.
