Apple Crumble and Custard (in London)

I want to go out for a meal with friends on Saturday for my birthday. The deciding factor of where we go is what dessert is on offer!
Does anyone know where we can get good, homely apple crumble (or failing that apple pie) and custard anywhere in London? So far I've only come across places that serve it with ice-cream.

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.Thats the problem Ammy, custard, I love it, and but it seems not to be in fashion, we are booked into a restaurant for a Christmas dinner, sweet is Xmas pud with Brandy sauce, when I asked for custard, it was as if i'd just landed from another planet. Its possible there might be one, but you've got your work cut out, Good luck.

Brown's is probably the most famous restaurant in London for traditional English food. Here's the current dessert menu:
Lemon Tart served with creme fraiche and bramble sauce �4.35
White Chocolate Bread & Butter Pudding �4.35
Dairy Ice Cream with a Homemade Cookie vanilla, strawberry or chocolate �4.10
Sticky Toffee Pudding with clotted cream and toffee sauce �4.25
Browns Chocolate Fudge Brownie with vanilla bean ice cream �4.85
Apple & Blackberry Crumble with fresh custard �4.25
There are some interesting main courses at prices within a pound or two either side of a tenner.
This menu is taken from the website of their Covent Garden restaurant (which I like because it serves good food, at reasonable prices but without a 'stuffy atmosphere' - it's usually a lively place). They've got other restaurants in London but, if you're thinking of visiting one, check the website to see if the same menu & prices apply.
