Can a key be lifted off to remove a piece of broken nail underneath it?

I'd say so, about 10 of the keys on my daughter Dell have popped off on their own!

They can be lifted off really easily...

Putting them back on again is another matter, it's really tricky and very very easy to break the "deckchair" under the keys.

So, personally I wouldn't try it!... just switch it off turn it upside down and give it a shake.
