Is it only me that finds it a bit gross?

I did a car boot on the weekend and sold a few pairs of shoes that I don't wear anymore but have in the past. A couple of them were shoes I wouldn't wear socks with but they were snapped up sharpish even though it was obvious they had been worn.

You see quite a lot of them on these facebook selling sites but as lovely as the shoes may be I can't stomach the thought of sharing someone elses foot sweat. Bleeuugghhh!

Evian, has it occurred to you that the person buying the shoes had little money?
I remember when I used to go swimming somebody stole my shoes and left a pair with a hole in one sole. I hope they crippled the ****.
Yep ... GROSS !

Oh god, I hadn't even thought about bowling shoes. Never going bowling again!

Yes, TWR. Hence my previous comment about being able to buy brand new shoes from certain shops cheaper than the price they paid for mine.

Lol Sandy, I shouldn't laugh but...

Evian, has it occurred to you that the person buying the shoes has a little fetish?

eeuugghhh, I think I just brought up a little bit of sick in my mouth.
Wouldn't wear second hand shoes these days but have in the past. Have also used bowling shoes (with socks) and skating boots from the skate hire when younger. Never thought anything about it then.
What about te TOTALLY done in ones being sold on ebay for the fetish folk hehe xx
I do borrow shoes from mates or lend mines out but sometimes others walk a bit funny and they feel weird after lending x
I do buy second hand shoes from charity shops and Ebay - due to financial restraints at the mo! :( I make sure they look clean first though, but some are like new, such a bargain especially ones made by M&S and Next. I wipe them out with Dettol anti-bacterial spray and it doesn't really bother me. What did bother me was years ago on a special Anniversary holiday to the Caribbean (I had money then as worked in those days!) we went snorkelling on a reef, we had to wear communal plastic shoes they stored on the boat so we didn't cut our feet on the coral ................ but then the diver brought out the snorkels kept on the boat and that thought of other people using them with bad teeth, colds or smelly breath really made me gag ........but I used it anyway, glad I did, the sight under the sea was the most fantastic experience of my life.:)
I would happily buy shoes on ebay, I can't anymore but have in the past and have got some lovely brand name bargains on there. I wish I could go back to getting my irregular choice favourites on ebay but I simply can't walk in heels any more.
I would never wear a strangers shoes under any circumstances. However, I have had some really good second hand trekking boots from my son through the years as he outgrew them.
I would have no qualms in wearing 2nd hand shoes. In the past I had to buy from charity shops etc. so am used to it.
If I had no choice and no finance I would have to wear secondhand shoes I suppose. But shoes adapt to the feet of the wearer and so I cannot see how it can be good to wear shoes that have changed shape due to a previous wearer. Walking boots are much stiffer and probably retain their original shape.

Wearing someone elses shoes can lead to problems such as Tinker has said. People all walk differently.
But I like China am limited with the type of shoes I can actually walk in these days and unfortunately I can't wear cheap shoes any more. I have stocked up with expensive ones to last me for the next ten years or so!!
When I buy brand new shoes/boots, they have to fit perfect first time. Same with 2nd hand, they have to fit perfect first time. Otherwise no good for me.
